Cuvee van de Keizer Blauw (Dark)

This Mechelen Emperor's Beer, originally drunk at Emperor Charles V's fox hunt but mainly named after his gold coins, is still brewed with dark and very balanced malts according to the classic infusion method. Aromatic malts and high fermentation combine the warmth of wine and freshness of beer. Due to its high density of 19° Plato, Gouden Carolus is classified among special beers. It is therefore extremely suitable for culinary purposes such as stews, game and even sabayon.
